Our sausages ...
Our sausages have won many awards, culminating in our receiving the top National Sausage King award for a second time in February 2013, for our Worcestershire & Cracked Pepper Sausages. Our Pork Sausages won the same prestigious award in February 2011.Our Chicken, Spinach and Pinenut Sausages took a third place award in the same competition.
Our Pork Sausages also achieved a perfect score of 100 out of 100 in the Tasmanian Sausage King 2010 awards. Hill Street Gourmet Meats was officially judged Tasmanian Sausage King 2010 after also taking out first prizes in the State for both our Australian Lamb sausages and our Poultry sausages.
In the 2009 State Sausage King awards, two of our most popular chicken sausages – Chilli Chicken with Red & Green Capsicum, and Chicken, Spinach & Pinenut – won regional prizes and our Pork sausages were judged third best in all of Tasmania. In the 2008 State Sausage King awards, our Italian sausages won first prize, our Mountain Pepper & Native Thyme won 2nd prize, and our Pork won 3rd prize.
In the AMIC 2006 Sausage King awards, our pork sausages won first prize, our Gourmet (mountain pepper & native thyme) won 2nd prize, our Traditional Australian Beef won 3rd prize, our Poultry (sweet chilli and red pepper) also won 3rd prize, and our Bratwurst was highly commended.
Our burgers ...
Our Roasted Tomato & Smoked Garlic Beef Burger – first prize winner in the Best Tassie Butcher’s Burger Competition in 2007 (the Australian Meat Industry Council’s annual awards). Our chicken burgers won second prize.

For many years (except 2005) we have been the winning bidder on the Supreme Champion Beast at the Royal Hobart Show. This gives our customers an opportunity to taste award winning steak.

There are around 3,000 nominations each year for the Hobart City Council Exceptional Customer Service awards. Shane Mundy has been recognised more than once as one of the top five finalists in the Individual Retail category.

On December 4th, I organised a Christmas musical soirée for thirty guests at Dysart House. John Wilson, whose catering business John & Peter is generally regarded as the finest in Australia, flew down to create the buffet.
Both he and I agree that we have never had finer ingredients, including eight fresh chickens and the best-ever ham from West Hobart Gourmet Meats. Your products are simply the best.
